Hands on learning just as important as a degree

A lot of people will tell you education is required in order to get a job. But that's not always true.

Many companies hire on people because they want to train them up their way. So prior experience isn't always needed.

And don't be fooled by degree. You can put two people side by side and the person with the degree doesn't always get the job. Often those with hands on learning are grabbed right up.

So, don't cut yourself short. I have years of experience in a number of fields and employees like that.
A lot of skills you learn are transferrable. Meaning the skills you learn at one job, can be used at a number of other jobs.

What tranferable skills do you have and how did you use them at one job compared to another?

So the other day, I called an agent whom I met from Craigslist and had the opportunity to get some info on how I'd get it. They will train you if selected and certified. Mind you it comes at a cost. What I do find encouraging is that employers will hire you based on your intellect. You get an entrance paper and this will determine if you can read and how well.
